INTERVIEW with Gail (@pure_lation) & Maximus (@maximusdoesart) 2/3 from the TOP 3 of our ‘Alfred-Verse’ art contest!
MAXIMUSDOESART:
RA: How long does it take to make one piece?
MX: when making a new piece of art some things are easier than others, but my digital works take from 4-10 hours!
RA: What inspired your Alfred-Verse submission?
MX: I think my biggest inspiration was my ADHD and my impulsive nature. I was playing a game at the time that had mythical creatures and I guess Unicode keeps it all pretty simple and fun!
RA: Who are some of your biggest artistic inspirations?
MX: - MikeyMegaMega
- Samedoesart
- Rare Americans
- Omardogan1976
- Graffiti art
Gail (@pure_alation)
RA: What inspired your Alfred-verse submission?
GL: When it comes to my submission it was 100% the song Mama Bear that inspired it. I wanted something that would make sense for the band while also being relatable for some. Because as sad as it is, not everyone has that motherly figure, but instead having a father. Even if it’s a friend who takes that father figure. And with addition to that, we needed some chubby representation, some soft cuddly energy
RA: When you grow up, what do you aspire to be?
GL: When it comes to when Im older, it's hard to say. I’m 20 almost 21 now and most would say they hope to be at this bigger job or have a family or straight up don't know where they want to be when they are older. But for me, I just want to be stable. I want an environment I can thrive in, and be able to LIVE my life ya know? Love... my life despite the ups and downs. I want to BE that environment and someone that other people can thrive off as well.
RA: Where do you see your art in 5 years?
GL: And my art, where do I see it in 5 years... Well, honestly I hope it’s better! I've been drawing most of my life and was told to always go to art school but it never really interested me. I felt art was more fun instead of a job. Currently, I do photography right stories for dnd. And in a way, those are forms of art. But on the side when I do draw, it’s following my photos and dnd. So I hope I can learn new skills when it comes to it, and more people want to see it and enjoy it!

The bear looks the closest to the RA style I think. But they all look amazing. I hate voting cause I want all of them to win!
