FAN FRIDAYS: Interview w/ COMMON CANADIANS + RA Merch Fan Re-Creations and FAN ART!
Happy Friday! Today we got a chance to catch up with the one and only, Common Canadians, as well as some awesome RA Fan Art/Merch Re-makes!
Created by Moth!
You might know him as ‘Common Canadians’, one of Rare Americans super fans/fams. Whether he’s hanging backstage at an RA show, or hanging in our Discord server, he’s always brought the positive vibes!
RA: Tell us the story behind the name Common Canadians.
CC: Common Canadians came from me needing a Discord username, I was a huge fan of Rare Americans at that time too and I remembered the old April Fools joke they pulled a couple of years back. Then I thought to myself, wow Common Canadians would be a great name to use, since then the whole Common Canadians universe has expanded. We even have lore!
RA: Cereal or milk first?
CC: Easiest question ever. Cereal first when you. When you put milk first you tend to have to guess how much cereal you have to put in because it’s covered by milk. If you put cereal first, it’s easy to control the ratio of milk to cereal.
RA: If you could describe yourself as one Rare American song, which would it be?
CC: After some careful debating with myself. I have decided to go for the song ‘Black Sheep’. I considered ‘BBN’, ‘White T-shirt Nights’, ‘Gas Mask’, and ‘Milk Man’. But I think Black Sheep really just resonates with me in a different way. I’ve always been a very different person and Black Sheep is like all of my emotions and individuality all carefully constructed into one great song. Even the first line resonates with me so well. “I’m what you call a black sheep, always have been I know”. To me these lyrics and this song in particular isn’t just about your own individuality, but a common individuality within a community. Rare Americans fans are Black Sheep. And we’re aware of it. If you don’t like it “axe me”…
